DECATUR, Miss. — The postseason journey will continue for the East Central Community College baseball program as the Warriors earned an at-large bid to the 2026 NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series in Enid, Oklahoma.
East Central received the No. 5 overall seed in the 12-team field and will open tournament play against No. 12 seed Wake Technical Community College on Saturday, May 23, at 7 p.m.
The Warriors enter the national tournament with a 46-13 overall record and a 20-8 mark in MACCC play following another standout season under head coach Neal Holliman. East Central navigated one of the nation's toughest schedules while competing in the MACCC and finished the season strong, posting a 16-5 record over its final 21 games, including a 3-2 mark during postseason play.
East Central also continued its dominance against elite competition throughout the year. The Warriors posted a 17-5 record against nationally ranked opponents, including victories over multiple region champions and conference title winners.
The Warriors were among the nation's most productive teams statistically during the 2026 campaign, ranking near the top of NJCAA Division II baseball in several offensive categories. East Central finished third nationally in runs scored, hits, doubles and strikeouts while also ranking inside the top 10 in batting average, RBIs and home runs.
East Central's appearance in Enid continues a recent run of national success for the program. Since the NJCAA Division II World Series moved to Enid in 2009, Region 23 programs have consistently performed among the nation's best, with East Central advancing deep into tournament play in recent seasons.
The winner between East Central and Wake Tech will advance further into the double-elimination bracket as the Warriors look to make another deep postseason run on the national stage.
