ENID, Okla. — The warriors saw their 2026 season come to an end Tuesday afternoon after falling 13-12 to in an elimination game at the 2026 NJCAA Division II Baseball World Series at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.
The Warriors finished the season 48-15 after battling back late from multiple deficits before South Mountain held on in the ninth inning.
South Mountain struck early with four runs in the first inning and added insurance throughout the afternoon, including a three-run home run from Jack Meissner in the fifth inning that pushed the lead to 11-4.
East Central refused to go away, erupting for five runs in the seventh inning to cut the deficit to 11-9. RBI hits from Briceton Johnson, Kayden Peoples and Xavier Myles highlighted the rally, while Sawyer Bates added a sacrifice fly.
The Warriors continued to pressure South Mountain late. Mason Hickman drove in a run with a double in the eighth before Xavier Myles opened the ninth inning with a solo home run to make it 13-11. Later in the inning, Hickman brought home another run on a fielder's choice, but South Mountain recorded the final out to secure the victory.
East Central finished with 15 hits in the loss. Ryan Nelson led the way with three hits and four runs scored, while Hickman went 3-for-6 with two RBIs and a double. Myles added two hits and two RBIs, including the ninth-inning homer, while Jacob Wooten drove in two runs.
Despite the season-ending loss, the Warriors made a strong run through the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid.
Hickman delivered one of the top offensive performances of the tournament, finishing 12-for-22 (.545) with one home run, one double, eight runs scored and five RBIs across four World Series games.
Pablo Roque also starred for the Warriors, batting 7-for-16 (.438) during the tournament while hitting for the cycle. Roque totaled one home run, one triple, two doubles and three singles while scoring seven runs and driving in seven RBIs during East Central's World Series run.
