DECATUR, Miss. — East Central Community College baseball standouts Mason Hickman and Pablo Roque have earned NJCAA Division II All-America honors following a historic 2026 season for the Warriors.
Hickman was named a First Team All-American after producing one of the best offensive seasons in program history. The sophomore batted .444 with 16 home runs, 81 RBIs, 98 runs scored and 26 stolen bases while setting a single-season school record with 110 hits. He helped lead East Central to a 48-15 record, a second-place finish in the MACCC and a berth in the NJCAA Division II World Series.
Head coach Neal Holliman said Hickman's success was the result of his consistency and willingness to do whatever the team needed throughout the season.
"He had a record-setting year. He was very consistent throughout the entire year," Holliman said. "He played third, short, second, so many positions for the team. He was very coachable and his offensive contribution to the team was historic and very meaningful."
Hickman continued his strong season at the NJCAA Division II World Series in Enid, Oklahoma, where he earned All-Tournament Team honors. He batted .545 (12-for-22) over four games with a home run, a double, five RBIs and eight runs scored.
Roque earned Second Team All-America honors after another outstanding season in a Warrior uniform. The sophomore hit .423 with 11 home runs, 64 RBIs, 59 runs scored and 12 stolen bases, earning All-America recognition for the second consecutive year.
According to Holliman, Roque's season was highlighted by his response to adversity and the way he finished the year.
"He is a 2x All-American and had another tremendous year, battling through some adversity at the beginning of the year," Holliman said. "In his last month he was an absolute offensive force."
Roque was instrumental in East Central's postseason run and turned in one of the top offensive performances at the World Series. In four games, he batted .438 (7-for-16) with a home run, a triple, two doubles, seven RBIs and seven runs scored.
"Both of these guys had tremendous showings at the World Series," Holliman said.
The All-America selections cap a memorable season for the Warriors, who spent portions of the year ranked among the nation's top teams before advancing to the NJCAA Division II World Series. Hickman and Roque were key pieces of an East Central offense that helped the program return to the national stage and finish among the nation's elite.
