Anthony Thomas (Stringer) closed out the 2021 season in style as he picked up MACCC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his week nine performance against Coahoma. 

Thomas sparked a Warrior come-from-behind victory with a pick-six early in the third quarter of play. The score was ECCC's first defensive touchdown of the year, but it was also the Warriors' first touchdown in a 30-point half as the team rallied to a 30-18 victory. The sophomore added seven solo tackles, second-best on the team for the night, to his interception in his stellar performance. 

Thomas fished the year with 63 tackles, just one behind team-leader Equandirc Ross' 64. Thomas posted two interceptions, nine breakups, one block, one forced fumble, two fumble recoveries. five tackles for loss, and two sacks on the year. ECCC finished the year 3-6 overall and 2-4 in division play.
