Meridian, MS-East Central Community College's men's golf team delivered an impressive performance at the Jim Redgate Invitational, held at Briarwood Country Club in Meridian, MS. The team tied for 2nd place overall, showcasing their competitive spirit against tough opponents.

"I feel like the guys played well this week and excelled in a very high level of competition," said head men's golf coach Matthew Perry. "Ultimately, this team is still very focused on staying in the top 3 teams in the state to qualify for nationals. So far, that is going well!"

Leading the way for East Central was Will Thompson, who earned All-Tournament Team honors with a stellar individual performance. Thompson finished in the top three, shooting a 2-under par round to secure his position among the tournament's best.

East Central's solid showing in this event and Thompson's outstanding individual finish set the team up for a strong season ahead. The Invitational provided a great opportunity for the team to build momentum as they continue their 2024 campaign.
