DECATUR, Miss. — East Central Community College split a doubleheader with Northeast Mississippi Community College on Saturday at The Mound, falling in Game 1 before bouncing back with an 11-7 win in Game 2.

After being shut out in the opener, East Central responded with an explosive offensive performance in the second game, highlighted by a five-run second inning and multiple extra-base hits.


Game 1

Northeast took control early and never let up, scoring in every inning of a five-inning run-rule victory.

1st inning

Top 1st: Sophie Gant delivers an RBI double, followed by another extra-base hit to give Northeast an early lead.

East Central responded with a strong offensive showing, using timely hitting and a big second inning to secure the win.
