The East Central Community College Athletic Department has released attendance guidelines for the upcoming basketball season in accordance with state and local government ordinances due to COVID-19. The Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference is allowing each institution to determine procedures and guidelines at their own discretion, therefore these specific guidelines are only in place for home contests in Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium.
"ECCC has set aside a limited number of tickets for its upcoming home basketball games for family members of the participating East Central players and spirit groups as well as an allotted amount for current East Central students," said ECCC Director of Athletics, Paul Nixon. "If any tickets remain from these distributions, they will be available for purchase by the general public at the door the night of the game. We are taking these steps to ensure the safety of every student-athlete, spectator, and staff member which is our top priority going into the spring athletic seasons."
The remaining tickets that go on sale will be available for $5 dollars at the door and fans can call the Athletic Office at (601) 635-6310 the day of each game to check availability. Spectators will be required to wear masks while inside Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium and everyone is asked to sit in the group they traveled to the game with. Appropriate measures will be in place to ensure social distancing throughout the facility and proper precautions will be taken with concessions.
A limited number of 20 visiting fans will also have the opportunity to attend the games, however, that list will be provided by the visiting institution.
