Northwest Tops East Central in Road Match

SENATOBIA, Miss. — East Central Community College dropped a three-set match on the road Monday night, falling 25-15, 25-18, 25-12 to Northwest Mississippi Community College in Senatobia.

The Warriors (3-2) were led by Ainslee Copeland with six kills, while Addison Vaughn and Riley Tosseng each added three. Setter Anna Wojtczak contributed 16 assists and 11 digs, and libero Emily Truan recorded two digs.

East Central finished with 18 total kills but was held to a -.130 hitting percentage across the match. Vaughn posted the team's top hitting percentage at .167, while Tosseng added a team-high 5.5 points with three kills and three block assists.

Northwest controlled each set, limiting the Warriors to single-digit kills in all three frames. East Central showed its strongest effort in the second set, tallying six kills before the Rangers closed out the frame.

The Warriors will look to bounce back when they host Southwest Mississippi Community College on Wednesday, Sept. 3, in Decatur.
