DECATUR, Miss. — The East Central Community College Lady Warriors delivered one of their strongest performances of the season Wednesday night, sweeping Pearl River 3–0 (25–12, 26–24, 28–26) inside Founders Gymnasium on Community Bank Court. The victory lifts East Central to 10–8 overall and 7–4 in MACCC play, marking a pivotal conference win as the Lady Warriors complete a sweep over the Wildcats.

"It came down to who wanted to win the game and who wanted to lose the least," said head coach Patrick Hiltz. "Our girls showed heart and refused to back down when it mattered most."

Offensive Firepower

ECCC's front line set the tone early and never let up. Ainslee Copeland led the way with 11 kills and 17 digs, pairing efficiency at the net with solid defense. Cecilia Hikari-Hosaka added 10 kills and hit an impressive .257, continuing her consistent offensive run. Addison Vaughn chipped in four kills, four total blocks, and an ace, while Riley Tosseng contributed three kills and two assisted blocks.

Setting and Defense

Setter Anna Wojtczak was instrumental in orchestrating the attack, dishing out 27 assists while adding 12 digs and a block assist. Libero Emily Truan anchored the back row with a team-high 22 digs, while Landry Franks added nine and an ace from the service line.

After dominating the opening set 25–12, East Central showed poise under pressure, edging Pearl River 26–24 and 28–26 in two thrilling sets that showcased their resilience. The Lady Warriors (10–8, 7–4 MACCC) now turn their focus to a major road test on Monday, Oct. 13 at 6:00 p.m., when they travel to Ellisville to face Jones College in another key conference matchup.
