Warriors Roll Past Co-Lin for First Win of the Season

DECATUR, Miss. — The East Central Community College Warriors earned their first win of the season Thursday night, defeating Copiah-Lincoln Community College 73–62 inside Mullen Gym. The victory evens East Central's record at 1–1 on the year.

Sophomore guard Jaylen Torgusson led the way with 18 points, connecting on 8-of-13 shots from the field. Chris Moliere added 11 points and five assists, while Marouf Moumine provided a strong inside effort with nine points, seven rebounds, and two blocks. Off the bench, Gaylon Turner scored nine points and hit a key three-pointer to help the Warriors pull away.

East Central shot 46.2 percent from the floor and forced 20 Co-Lin turnovers, converting them into 26 points. The Warriors also controlled the paint with a 50–38 advantage in inside scoring and got 25 points from their bench.

Leading 40–27 at halftime, the Warriors maintained their momentum throughout the second half, never allowing Co-Lin to get back within single digits.

East Central returns home on Monday, Nov. 10, to host Lawson State Community College at 7:30 p.m. inside Brackeen-Wood Gymnasium, following the women's matchup.
