DECATUR, Miss. / WESSON, Miss. — The East Central Community College Warriors put together a strong week on the pitch, defeating Northwest Mississippi 4–1 at home before falling 3–1 on the road at Copiah-Lincoln. The split pushes ECCC to 6–5 overall and 4–3 in MACCC play.
ECCC 4, Northwest Mississippi 1 – Decatur
East Central earned one of its most dominant wins of the season last Tuesday, led by a standout performance from Michael Lismore, who recorded a hat trick to pace the Warrior offense.
Daniel Ducculi opened the scoring in the 30th minute, and Lismore took over from there—finding the back of the net in the 50th, 60th, and 70th minutes, including one unassisted goal and two set up by Ducculi and Camilo Lopez Sanchez.
Goalkeeper Sebastian Montes Mon finished with five saves as ECCC's defense held strong throughout the match. The Warriors' precision passing and finishing lifted them to their fourth conference win of the season.
Co-Lin 3, ECCC 1 – Wesson
Three early goals from Copiah-Lincoln proved too much to overcome Friday, as East Central fell 3–1 on the road. Ducculi once again found the scoresheet, netting a goal in the 70th minute off an assist from Lismore.
Montes Mon collected seven saves in the match, while Lismore and Lopez Sanchez combined for multiple shots on goal to keep the Warriors in contention late.
The Warriors (6–5, 4–3 MACCC) will look to bounce back on Tuesday, Oct. 14, when they travel to face East Mississippi in a key conference matchup. Kickoff is set for 8:00 p.m.
