Olmstead is the only junior college coach in Mississippi to coach internationally and have an international athlete (Taiwan, USA) 2020-current day. Olmstead founded the Newton County High School Swimming Team with multiple state championship medalists and won MHSAA Girl's Swimming North Mississippi Runner-Up Class I 2023 (2020- current day). Year-round club coach of 12 years with multiple collegiate Division 1 and 2 athletes (SEC, MW, GFC conferences), athletes with state record holders in short and long course yards (including current-day records). Only Mississippi coach to have a swimmer compete internationally (Taiwan, USA 2020-current day) with International Championship gold medals. Multiple previous athletes with semi-national, sectional, and regional medals. The highest number of athletes with state records, state medalists (more than 20 Gold), international champion Gold medals (3 Gold, 7 Silver, 10+ Bronze), and collegiate swimming careers of any junior college coach in Mississippi. Olmstead was the sole coach in developing international champion Marina Olmstead, who swam at the University of Alabama in 2019 and the University of New Mexico 2020-2023 and who is currently competing and representing the Chinese Taipei Swimming Association. Olmstead trained and developed Michael Robinson, currently swimming for Delta State University. He achieved a top 10 national time for the men's 100-yard freestyle at the first competition of his freshman season. (2024) Olmstead and his wife, Anthia, have two children, Marina and Maya. Fun fact about Coach Bryan Olmstead: In 1989, Coach Olmstead was the Taiwan National Arm Wrestling Champion. While living in Taiwan, he coached gymnastics at his two privately owned gyms, serving 287 athletes.
