Lady Warriors Power Past Jackson State (Tenn.)

JACKSON, Tenn. — East Central volleyball picked up a key road victory Friday night, defeating Jackson State Community College 3–1 (23–25, 25–18, 25–17, 25–21).

After dropping a tight opening set, the Lady Warriors found their rhythm and dominated the next three frames behind a balanced offensive effort. Riley Tosseng led the attack with 16 kills and added six total blocks, while Cecilia Hikari-Hosak tallied 13 kills and 12 digs. Dixie Nance continued her strong play with 12 kills and 20 digs, and Addison Vaughn added 10 kills on a .667 hitting percentage.

Setter Anna Wojtczak orchestrated the offense with 45 assists and 12 digs, and Maddie Kate Bunyard sparked the service line with four aces. Defensively, East Central combined for 16 total blocks, led by Addison Hyde and Vaughn.

With the win, East Central improves to 11–10 overall and 7–6 in conference play. The Lady Warriors will travel to Summit on October 20 to face Southwest Mississippi Community College, with first serve scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
