DECATUR, Miss. / WESSON, Miss. — The East Central Community College Lady Warriors faced a challenging pair of MACCC matchups last week, falling to Northwest Mississippi at home before dropping a road contest at Copiah-Lincoln.
Northwest Mississippi 6, ECCC 0 – Decatur
The Lady Warriors struggled to contain a potent Northwest offense in Tuesday's home match, as the visitors found the back of the net six times despite several strong efforts from ECCC's back line. Goalkeeper Jaci Willis made multiple key saves to slow the momentum, while defenders Shelby Stewart, Laci Donner, and Meg Miller provided consistent effort against heavy pressure.
Co-Lin 5, ECCC 1 – Wesson
On Friday, East Central showed more offensive rhythm in Wesson but ultimately fell 5–1 to Copiah-Lincoln. Raiyleigh Perry scored the lone goal for the Lady Warriors, while Alyn Gomez and Chloe Hart helped generate attacking opportunities throughout the match. Willis once again anchored the defense in goal, facing a high shot volume and making several quality stops to keep ECCC in the match.
The Lady Warriors will look to rebound on Tuesday, Oct. 14 at 6:00 p.m., when they travel to take on East Mississippi Community College in another key conference matchup.
